Spring Break 2010!

I know I am a little behind with this post but I still want to post about my spring break! It was amazing. Let me show you how amazing it was: Brittanys spring break happened to be at the same time! So she was back for that week and getting to see her after this long was wonderful! She had a get together so that everyone could come to see her as well as to celebrate her birthday.
Another day, Whittney and I went shopping. We have a tendency to try on weird sunglasses then take pictures. It makes for a good time.
The next day we went to the st. park. I got to take pictures which of course was wonderful. I took this shot of Whittney and I just really like it! When we were there we thought we saw a dead guy across the lake. He was really close to the water and not moving. We yelled but he still didn't move. We were not sure what do but then luckily he did move.
While we were at the park, we sat down to talk and decided we wanted to go on a road trip. We debated many places but finally decided that going to stay with my aunt and uncle would be the best (and most affordable) option. I was very excited, not only because I would get to see them but because Whittney was going and she hasn't ever gone up there with us. Plus, I'd never gone with just a friend either.
So the next day we got up and drove three hours straight. We made good time and had to wait for my cousins to come home from school. While we waited we played an intense game of Mario Kart on the Wii which was crazy! Then they finally got home and we got to spend time with them-
Brooke had to leave to take the dog to the vet and while she was gone we took pictures with Jessica. Peace out dudes!
Haha. Elephant faces with Jessica in the middle!
The next day my cousins had school again, so we settled for some shopping. We went into abercrombie for the first time. The mall there was so big we spend a good few hours in there!

After we went to the mall, we found our way to the lake. It was too cold to swim. There were still ice chunks in the water but we told people we did swim and they believed us! crazy! But we did take our shoes off and enjoy the sand beneath our toes. And we did dip our feet in but it was so cold!
It was Whittneys first time at the lake! So she wrote her name in the sand and got the traditional vacation memorabilia picture.
Of course I got to practice my photography skills, my camera did not leave my side! Here is my beautiful cousin Brooke.
And the beautiful cousin Jessica!
Whittney took over the camera for a little while- so I got a picture with Brooke!
The next day we woke up and had to head home so that we could make it back for Whittneys dads surprise party. We took a group picture before we left which included my cousins new puppy Bandit! He is one crazy dog!

I really did have the most awesome spring break. It was certainly better than I thought it was going to be. I just had such a great time, I am hoping that Whittney did too and that we will get to take a trip like this again- when its warmer and we can swim!!

Highlights from my 18th year

As of today, I am 19. Its pretty crazy for me to think about- maybe that I've made it 19 years or maybe that it just doesn't feel as if I am that old.

Either way I am glad to see 19 come but at the same time 18 really was a great year. It had its not so good times as well but with the good comes the bad. In no particular order here are some (aka the ones I could think of right now) highlights of my 18th year: -The end of Senior year. This included senior prom, which was such a great time.

-Getting Invisaligns to straighten my teeth. I had the actual invisaligns from a little bit before my 18th birthday until about October. Now I wear a "retainer" constantly but will get to gradually wean off of it here soon.
-Graduation!! Seniors 2009 baby!! I graduated high school finishing 8th in my class. I got a couple good scholarships from the college and a couple outside ones as well.

-My graduation party! It was so much fun. I would go back to high school just to do it again! Ok, maybe not but it was pretty fun!
-Getting my Nikon DSLR camera. Its my baby ;) I love having it and eventually I plan to get off the P setting and unto the Manual one.

-Having my photography grow. Somewhat because of my Nikon but somewhat because of my talent as well. Having people ask me to take portraits for them and doing a number of photo shoots. My photography has really advanced lately and for that I am excited and hope it continues to grow.
-Regaining Whittney back as my closest friend. There was a short period of absence with our friendship, we kind of drifted apart, but towards the beginning of my 18th year we started to come back together and now I think we are closer than ever. And for that, I am grateful. She really is the greatest friend, scratch that, sister a girl could have.

-I started college and have found that it isn't really what I expected. It has its good and its bad, some days I like it and some days I don't. I have been doing pretty well and have passed all my courses with A's or B's. We will see with spring semester but I hope that holds true.
-I made the Deans list for fall semester. Barely. but it still counts =]
-I got to be in the live audience at one of Jack Hanna's specials. It was exciting. Living where I do that is probably the only opportunity I will ever have for something like this and the closest I will ever get to a celebrity. I got his autograph to ;)

- I did my first field through school. I was in a second grade classroom. I got very good feedback so despite my nervousness and all things like that I obviously did well enough to be commended on my efforts. I really hope I am making the right choice with teaching.

I know there is so much more that has happened this last year that is noteworthy but I can't think of anything else at the moment and I am running short on time. College has kept me on a short leash so far this semester, I haven't had the time for much other than homework.

Oh, I forgot to include the fact that I got this blog and I enjoy everything about it- so thank you all who read it- you have helped make my 18th year all the better!!!

Goodbyes

I hate goodbyes. In any way, shape, or form I am not a fan. Whether for a few minutes, hours, weeks, or years I struggle with and try to avoid them. I hate the uncertainty they bring, the gap of time where anything could happen, the feeling of being left, and the questions that haunt my mind about the way the goodbye went and the terms that person and I were on when they said it (were they secretly annoyed, but pretending to be nice? Did I say something that may have made them mad and they couldn't wait to get rid of me? Did I sound dumb or act like a fool?)

Case in point: Goodbyes are a dreaded, hated thing for me. They are even worse when you have to say goodbye to your best friend.

Three days ago, I had to do just that. I had to say goodbye to Brittany, one of my best friends because she has decided to go to college about 6-7 states away.

I will miss her dearly. Her silly sense of humor even when she was making fun of how short I was. Her eagerness for anything and the way she made even the most mundane tasks fun. Her line of promises and bets about how she will read so many books that she never did find the time to read. Her talk of movies and the list she continuously added to for me to watch. Her encouragement and kind words, and how she always knew the right thing to say. How she always left a glass of water sitting in the same spot in my room. How hard it was to end a conversation to make time for sleeping when one of us slept over.

Most of all I am just going to miss having my best friend around - everything about her will be missed.
All of us at her surprise going away party: Rochelle,Katie,Brittany,Jamie,Me,Lizzy. Poor Britt got caked by Katie!
Lizzy, Me, and Brittany right after her party.
The last time I saw her, when I left her house from spending the night on her last day here.

Brittany I will miss you dearly. I hope that you keep in touch and that our friendship still continues to grow even with 6-7 states between us. I hope that you have an amazing time at college and that you don't forget about your friends here. I hope that you always know I am here for you and that I'll always be your best friend.

Thanks for everything you've done, I wish you the best.

I wish this was my last goodbye for this week, but its unfortunate to me that it's not. Jodi and the girls will be leaving here in a few days, for a few days. They will be four hours away. I have spent almost everyday with them this summer, and its going to be pretty hard to see them go. Even more so because that leaves me with 2 best friends gone, and the other one at work. What will I do? I hate being bored and lonely!

Oh how I hate goodbyes...saying goodbye to two best friends within a week and having all three of them busy? This stinks.

So much excitement,

in such a small amount of time! And the only part I've gotten to share is about my camera! But I now have the time to fill you in on what all was going on for me last week!
These are the major(ish) things that happened:
-My mom and sister returned, bringing back my cousins who stayed with us the entire week!
-Jodi and the girls returned bringing good ideas and fun things for us all to do
-The weather spiked up and we got to turn the a/c on, and Me and my three (1 sister, 2 cousins) and Jodi and her two got to pack it up and go to the pool for the day.
-My D60 came!
-My family, friends and I got to work on decorating the place my party was at, which included all my pictures, which is a two day job in itself ;)
-My parents, aunt, and uncle got to work on getting all the food together.
-My neighbor took care of the cake arrangements.
-My mom got me balloons, including at big 2009, which was awesome!
-Then my party happened: which was completely amazing and went better than I ever expected!
-Then yesterday my cousins left =[ which was very sad. They live far away and I just miss em so much!
-But then my sad mind was distracted, Jodi and I went shopping and we had a blast! And she hates shopping just so you know. And ya know what else? I got to hear a fire alarm go off in wal-mart! Have any of you ever been around to hear them test the alarm? Ha ha, I feel special ;)

And that is the summary of the big(ish) things that happened during this last week. There was also lots of little things going on, but I will not bore you with those details, because now i am getting to what you really came for- The pictures!
These cute kiddos are my cousins and my sister. I took them to the park. (This is the only picture in this post that was not taken with my new camera.)Meet Brooke, the older of the two. Shes such an amazing kid, so grown up and to smart for her own good. Shes a natural leader and is always there for you no matter what you need.
Meet Jessica, the younger of the two. This kid is quite amazing herself. Shes got quite the silly side and can always put a smile on my face. Shes got a kind heart and always knows how to make you feel better about yourself.

They are amazing, and they are my cousins. I miss them so much I quite frankly can't even stand it.
Party Time!

Me with my wonderful cake!
Me with Marcia, my cousin, and her daughter Claire, my second cousin.
Me and the girls! Taylor then Mikayla!
Me and my four closest friends!
My new favorite picture ever- Me and my three best friends. I have never had a picture of us all together! I love these three so much and I do not know what I would do without them!
Right before my cousins left: had to get one last picture together.

Well there ya go, the reason why I have not posted sooner. I hope it was worth your wait with all the pictures I put up here!

Can you hear me now? Cedar Point part One.

Yesterday was our Senior Trip and we picked to go to Cedar Point - Americas Roller Coast! Where else? ;)

We loaded the bus at about 7:45 and got there uhhhm round 9 or 10.
Me and Melinda sat together
Rochelle, Katie, Jamie, and Brittany were behind us.

We got there and boy was I in heaven- All my best friends and roller coasters - can't get better than that.

The lines were not to bad so we immediately hopped in one and got our first thrill of the day. We moved on from coaster to coaster and even though I have rode them all before let me tell ya they never get old. We were even able to convince Jodi to ride three of them (shes not a roller coaster person, more on that in the next post.)
Then we finally made it to my favorite ride- The Millennium force. I love this coaster. I was so excited. Now throughout the whole day I was worried about my phone falling out on one of the rides. I did not wear pants with good pockets and had the feeling all day that I was not going to end up bringing this phone back with me. But I am a worrier and that I know so I just took the extra precautions on all the rides so that this feeling would not go any further.
But it was different this time.
I decided that on this coaster it goes so fast and I was so excited I did not think my pockets would be able to hold my phone well at all, so I asked Brittany if she could put it in her much better, jeans pockets. We get on the ride and have one heck of a fun ride and then get off. As I am going down the exit I see that Brittany has stopped and is looking around...oh no... I turned to the person next to me and I say "I betcha my phone did not make it" now I had no idea and I just thought on that feeling... and it turned into truth.
My phone did not survive the Millennium Force. I wish I could tell you thats all of this story but there is more...
I called my mom from a friends phone soon after to tell her what happened. Like any mother would be, she was not happy. But she told me to call her again in an hour if we could not find it and she will report it lost. I called her back in an hour and the conversation went something like this...
Me: "Hi mom" Mom: "So you found your phone" Me: "No, I am calling from Brittany's phone" Mom: "Well you must of found it cause you have been texting me" Me: "Nooo mom I have not found it" Mom: "Well someones been texting me"
.....and so it goes. Someone found it. My mom texted me asking if I had found it. They answered No. Mom, thinking it was me, asked where I found it. They answered in the bushes. My mom tried to call, they turned it off and it went straight to voicemail.
So my phone was found, but I still do not have it. They never turned it in. I went to the lost and found and filed a report and as of this morning they still do not have my phone. But someone does.
Its crazy because I do not even know where they would have found it. The only bushes around that ride that are not fenced off are back off the main way and blocked by vendors. Are these people like random bush checkers? I think that they would have had to see it fall, otherwise I cannot think of how they would have found it. And then the fact that my phone is not even worth keeping, really. The front screen is broken and its scratched and cracked and its not even a good model phone. Its not like the iphone or even close for that matter. So why would you not turn it in? And then if you were going to be a smart thief, why text my mom? And as a person taking a phone ya gotta know that the owner is going to shut off the service. So why not turn it in? Its beyond me really. I have priceless pictures on there and even worse I have a friend who I am now never going to be able to get in contact with because I now do not have her number. The circumstances with her make it hard to begin with now I do not have any idea how I am going to find her.
My mom thinks a kid may have found it. A kid that knows how to text and that would hide it from their parents so they would not have to give it back. Otherwise, I have no logic that would make sense. What do you think?
But all-in-all this trip was amazing. I had so much fun with my friends riding roller coasters.
And the answer to the title? No, I can't hear you now, but I am hoping that soon this situation will turn good and that I will be able to hear you now.
And as for the trip- its certainly one I'll never forget.
Tune in for part two- the one part of the story I haven't told yet!
